By CHRISTIAN SCHULTZ, Associated PressAUSTIN, Texas (AP) The young woman from the Sikh faith was in tears as she recalled her father’s teachings as a child.
It was during a routine visit to the hospital that the family learned that his wife had been killed by a drunken driver.
The young girl knew she had to be strong.
So, when she was a child, she was given a religious garment.
She loved it.
She wanted to wear it, even though she had no idea she had such a deep connection to her father.
The garment was made of wool and was wrapped around her waist, like a cloak.
It held her family in place, and the little girl had faith.
It helped her cope with the pain of her loss.
And it was the only thing that kept her alive.
She had a mother who died when she became a toddler, and a father who was killed in a car accident.
It also helped her overcome her own fears.
It helped her to cope with her own grief.
She says she was taught by her father to look at the world through a mirror and not think about what others think of her.
It made her feel like an outsider.
So it was comforting to be part of that world, she said.
It gave her a sense of belonging.
She said it was hard for her parents to leave.
She said they had no money.
And they struggled with depression.
The daughter said she was not alone.
There were people she didn’t know, she explained.
She was bullied for her religion, she says, and felt ashamed to be Sikh.
She went to a mosque a couple of times a week to pray.
Her father, Sikander Singh, died when he was 28.
She never told him, and she thought she would never see him again.
She didn’t talk to him.
She and her mother, who was also a Sikh, have been together for 13 years.
But she has been lonely since then, and now she has to deal with a new set of challenges.
She’s worried about her father, and her family, and about the country she grew up in.
She has been to the United States four times and to England three times.
Her parents have moved several times.
She has a 3-year-old daughter, and recently she started taking care of a 2-year old.
She had been in a relationship with another Sikh girl when she lost her father in 2015.
She and the girl became fast friends.
She took a job in a store to help pay for her daughter’s education, and that was when she started seeing someone else.
That girl, who also has a Sikh name, is the one she had been hoping to marry.
It’s not clear why she is dating someone with no religion, but the girl said she believes her relationship with her father is the best thing that’s happened to her.
The girl said it helped her deal with the loss and the uncertainty of her life.
Her mother said she still struggles with depression, but her life has been great.
She is working toward her master’s degree, and hopes to become a doctor.
She’s also helping other Sikhs in their journey to finding the perfect marriage.
They’re talking about whether to get married and have children together or stay together and live apart.
She wants her son to have a good life.
And she wants her daughter to have that.
